Three different duets of string instruments (violin, viola, and violone) and live electronics. As source material for the digital processing I use a library of instrumental and spoken samples. Playing on a self-designed computer interface, I cut up the material into tiny bits and pieces – fragments of instrumental gestures and spoken words – and re-assemble them in real time into an improvised musical form. The result: a synaesthetic mix of language-as-sonic-interface and music-as-abstract-vocabulary, a mishmash of semantic and musical content.
